Just a reminder to vote "No", "Hell No" and "NFW" on the three referenda.
Tell all your friends... I just heard from a voter who got confused and voted "yes" on the second police station referendum and didn't want to. HEY FRANK WSOL! Congrats you idiot -- you nailed one person. All because you wanted your little pet project to go forward.
Oh my god!!! I think I screwed up. I only saw 2 referenda. One for the police station a la howard and the second fro repairs. Did I do something wrong?
The gypsy is correct that the referenda are advisory, but a strong message from the taxpayers will tell the City Council what we, the taxpayers, want done with our money. Based on most of the Aldermen we currently have, they may fail to get the message. It should be political suicide if they ignore the wishes of their voters. Unfortunately this has not stopped them in the past. Hopefully without Howard leading them around, they will lose their way and forget all about why they are so hell bent on building such an enormous structure.
If you only saw 2 referenda questions it means that you do not live in Maine Township. There was no third question in Norwood Park. I don't know about Leyden.
Just thought I would add another vote to the "yes" tally for the second reverendum question that was not intended. My neighbor asked me about it and he voted yes when he does want ANY kind of large scale new or improved police station.
Does anyone know how to get an election update without waiting until the polls close? Curiosity has been killing me all day! My fingers, toes, and everything else are crossed!
Maybe PRU knows something I do not, as often seems to be the case, but I do not bleieve that there is any information available until after the polls close.
When the polls close and votes are tallied, go to Dave's website at www.electdaveschmidt.com. Under Election Day Update go to #3 Election Results and click on "Click Here" This will link you to a website with current poll results. In a few minutes we will be glued to this site for the night!!!
The Pru Crew rocks!!

it doesn't matter. the City Council will do what it wants. I think those are both referenda that are a waste of space on the ballot.
ReplyDeletethe City Council is not REQUIRED to do what the voters say. it's just an advisory thing.
god help us all
