Ooh, Ooh That Smell!

The City Council will meet tonight at Park Ridge City Hall, beginning at 7:00 pm, for another exciting COW -- and the PRU Crew can already smell the odor of bullshit wafting throughout the City of Park Ridge!

The agenda (.pdf) for tonight's meeting offers some very special COW pies for public consumption. We have no doubt the taxpayers of Park Ridge will be enormously please with the Property Tax Levy (.pdf) and Six-Months Financial Report (.pdf). And the discussion of Contributions to Community Groups (.pdf) along with discussion of the Modifications to the 3P Manual for Special Events (.pdf) should be very entertaining.

The PRU Crew is really looking forward to hearing the Alderidiots talk about the proposed Video Poker Ordinance (.pdf) and Modifications to the Ethics Ordinance (.pdf).

We anticipate some Alderidiots will say the revenue, which may be produced from licensing video poker machines in Park Ridge, is not an amount for which it is worth altering the character of Park Ridge, despite the budget black hole deficit. We also anticipate some Alderidiots will completely ignore such an argument when they discuss billboards at a future meeting.

But without a doubt, the PRU Crew's favorite topic on tonight's agenda is the discussion of the proposed modifications to the Ethics Ordinance, courtesy of Procedures and Regulations chairman Alderman James Allspaghetti. Ooh, ooh that smell! Can you smell that smell?

We look forward to posting the videos tomorrow!

Having witnessed Adlerdoofus Allegretti feign outrage at citizens who have questioned his motives in the past, most recently when he inappropriately lashed out Judy Barclay from inside the horseshoe during the Frimark debate a few weeks ago, his looking to neuter the ethics ordinance is no great surprise.

We now know why you sit up there for a "measly" $100 a month Mister Allegretti. If you get your way we now know it is for the chance to be a gatekeeper/lobbyist for the ilk of billboard purveyors the like of Generation Group and others looking for shortcuts in City processes/procedures as soon as you are out of office... literally on day one out of office.

And Mister Allegretti, isn't it interesting how you've come up with your proposed changes right after the Frimark fiasco and not too soon before who knows how many of you sitting Aldermen decide not to run for office in 2011. You got plans for something Mister Allegretti??

A property tax increase? Didn't Schmidt's campaign run an anti-property-tax platform? Is he going to veto this if it passes? This is very upsetting as someone who worked extremely hard getting him elected...

As the only alderman former Mayor HO was able to muster to speak against the ethics ordinance in its formative stage (when those awful Democrats were still trying to keep Bedford Falls intact for y'all), All-regret-he prefaced his lame attack on the proposed ordinance with the unforgettable line, "Like most of us (aldermen), I got involved to improve my business..." People, All-regret-he made his intentions clear from the start -- I mean, from the first day after he sweetly bamboozled the whole council into approving him for HO's vacant 5th ward seat. He may not be a Yale Law grad, but Alegretti is living proof that the old saw is true: "The most important thing is sincerity. When you can fake that, you're home free." I love his comment as reported in the Journal to the effect that the ethics ordinance should be gutted because it didn't work out -- i.e., hampered a deal -- when applied to Frimark's recent sale. I'm sure he said it with all sincerity, too.
