...often cited/used when discussing "completely open and transparent government"...a "theme" so often referenced by our very own Mayor DipSchmidt.
So...one might wonder why the city attorney's memo isn't included in the list of online supporting documents along with the PROAC referendum information for Monday night's clowncil meeting...
Just another "glitchy" moment for the city's terrific new website...or...???
Does anyone know what is going on with a replacement Fire Chief?
I have a feeling everyone in Park Ridge will have to pay a lot for someone from out of state (read Michigan, aka the land of city managers wanting to move to the big city)to afford to live in Park Ridge.
Oh and then we have a Chief that needs to learn about Illinois rules etc.
We have a great Fire Dept, promote from within- now.
Some of those Michigan cities, are far bigger than 'lil 'ol Park Ridge. For some it may even be a downsize.
Just a reminder, simply because we boarder Chicago, doesn't make us Chicago, we may want to keep that in mind when discussing future plans for 'lil 'ol Park Ridge.
I see your point about promoting from within. The last three times that's happened hasn't worked out very well though.
Look at the last Fire Chief who was promoted from within, the last Director for Community Development who was promoted from within, and the Public Works Director who was promoted from within.
The Police Department has a new Chief from outside and that's the only department that seems to be getting its act together better than before.
I have not heard any complaints about our fire department. I have only heard good stories, except for the short term fire chief Gjelsten. The acting fire chief who applied for the job lives in Park Ridge and is well respected.

Any idea what's going on at the "other" blog? They've been down for about a week. Don't they know any good website companies over there?
LOL. Like a local company that claims they did the White House website?
..."claim" being the operative word...
Perhaps they have a website company who moonlites in the fireworks business.

Just asking,
Big City? Park Ridge? Are you serious?
