Veteran's Day 2008 - Observance

In observance of Veterans Day - Again today we will set aside any discussion of politics, government, elected leaders, and policy concerns in order to offer our deepest gratitude to those soldiers who have served our country to protect our freedoms, so that tomorrow, and every tomorrow to come, we may again freely discuss politics, government, elected leaders, and policy concerns.

To all our veterans near and far, thank you.
May God bless you all.

To all our service men and women, thank you. Without your sacrifices and the sacrifices made by your families, me and mine would not be living free and fine.

not to be political at all, although it may be taken that way by some, but I thanked God today that instead of more empty speeches by those who then go back and cut, delay, corrupt and divert veteran benefits, health care, protective gear, pay, etc. etc. etc. we will start actually giving these heroes the care they and their families have earned. We should all be watching, not for speechifying, but for legislating, on our vets' behalf -- and not just the grand-sounding titles of the bills which often have masked just the opposite intent, but what they actually contain for vets. God bless our brave and selfless citizens-at-arms, many of whom are still so, so young. Let's care for them, for real.
