The City managed to get last Monday's COW meeting video posted by this morning -- damn thing's been up all day but has only gotten 20 views. Come on, people! Take the weekend to relax and give your local government some of your time and attention!
There's more fun yet to come at the next City Council meeting on Monday night!

It's awfully quiet out there -- too quiet for these races if you ask me!

We haven't heard anything that's surprised us, but that doesn't mean we can't yet be surprised by what tomorrow brings.
The first ward may see a contested race. And, if we understand the matter correctly, we believe a recent Ill. Supreme Court decision may make for an interesting campaign.
We've heard nothing about anyone choosing to run against the incumbent in the second ward.
The third ward is, as usual, in a coma; we've heard the incumbent may change his mind, if nobody comes out of the woodwork.
The fourth ward is looking uncontested at this point, as is the fifth, but the fifth has potential to provide a surprise.
The sixth is looking as if there may be a contest between two candidates. We sure hope neither one of them tries to bullshit anybody about "giving back to the community," because we know for damn sure the inspiration behind each of their possible runs has not been spurred by any such sentiment.
And finally, the seventh has the potential to offer those constituents a three-way race.
We'll know for certain by the close of the business day, tomorrow.
