I think I would like to Maine South Constitution team to be our city council!

Who is willing to bet that in two weeks Tom Carey throws a fit because the water ordinance doesn't have in it the amendments he and Bach want for a final draft? DePetro explained it but I will bet Tom Carey didn't understand it.

I meant to say "the" Maine South Constitution team...

Appearently the home referenced, was puchased for 45-50% below value...as that seems to be what the suggested decrease is these days.

Apparently? According to what source?

We're assuming a price was offered and accepted and nobody had a gun to anyone's head at any time during the transaction. The market at any given moment in time determines value.

That one had me scratching my head as well. Perhaps the poster meant 45% below the previous purchase price.

4:17, if so, sounds like a short sale. whole different ball of wax then.

I had hoped that my intended sarcasam would have come through on this. The source I was was refering to were the resident speakers who have insisted that their home value is down 45- 50% due to the new runway.

No need to scratch your heads.

We sure blew that one. We missed your intended sarcasm completely. Sorry about that.

Ah, it happens.....there are a lot of things in that presentation to digest.

If any one of these elected officials, the Mayor included, gives these people one dime for this lunacy then they should be tossed out on their ear. This is absolutely crazy.

Somewhere Joe Karaganis is laughing enjoying a fruity beverage at a condo in a warm locale paid for by legal fees from the old noise commission.

The St. Johannes folks are still paying Joe's way. There's always another sucker.

So...Ms. Sandrik has asked the aldermen to consider a referendum to return the clowncil to two aldermen per ward...and Schmidt thinks it might be a good idea?

bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Okay Ms. Sandrik...good luck with that. I fully expect these idiots to say "nyet"...and THAT is exactly what you want them to say, Ms. Sandrik.

The process will be a p.i.t.a., but it's a necessary one if you want a real chance of winning your cause...

And then when Mayor Dave doesn't like the Alderman again, he can start another referendum campaign to go back to seven. What a great country this is. If FDR only knew how easy this was.

Bean 12:04:

What do you recommend we do when the Alderman rush to fill the ballot with their own "filler" referendums and prevent the citizen's referendum?

Is there any protection to prevent this from happening?

If we go back to 14, what is the over under on unopposed races? I say 8!!

M. Anderson said...

I, along with many others, worked to oppose the Council reduction. But that ship has sailed.

Concentrate your efforts now not on getting the Council back up to 14, but on getting the right 7 in there.
