This is by no means over. The prma is just regrouping, and plotting ways to coax pads or another homeless shelter here. They aren't giving up. They want those 3 able bodied men to have somewhere to sleep 1 night a week if it's the last thing they do, god damn it. They are ruthless, why else did they ram this down our throats for the past year? They could have said, let's try another tactic. We could have done fund raising for the center for concern; raised rent money for the needy families and gathered food and clothes for the needy. But NOOOOO, they wanted to waste everyone's precious time, including their own, (perhaps they are too stupid to think of it) for the 3 able bodied men who don't feel like hopping on the train and walking 10 feet to desplaines st. mary's. thanks prma!!! I would never go to one of your churches or donate a penny to one of your lame ideas.
With The Bears going against The Packers this weekend, For our mayor I especially hope The Bears cream them.

Dr. Pryor is finally choosing to retire and I wish her well...so, it's definitely a "long good-bye" but not necessarily "good riddance"...
I could certainly criticize some of her positions and opinions...but overall, I believe she's done a decent job...certainly under much tougher circumstances than her predecessor and far better than her predecessor...who was, to a great degree, a big doofus.
Ultimately though...any lasting criticism of district 64 belongs with Board members...who are the final arbiters of policy.
Whatever. Fr. Carl is a good man but he learned a valuable lesson: Even well-liked priests can hit the wall when they over-reach their authority. Let's hope HE learned a lesson in humility and will carry it with him to his next assignment, coming in the new year.
Fr. Carl was only well-liked because for so long he was able to hide his real character from people. I doubt the ego that occupies his mind with self-aggrandizing thoughts that allowed him to have the Parish Life Center christened after himself leaves much room for lessons in humility.
Fr Carl's "lesson" is hitting his church in the pocketbook. He turned away MANY parishoners who will not be returning. An apology is necessary.
He is a shameful representative of the church.
