Another COW!

According to WikiAnswers.com, the average full grown cow can produce about 150 lbs. of manure per day. Anyone care to guess how much municipal manure can be produced by one mayor and seven aldermen in two hours?

If you want to witness such a feat, the City Council COW will take place tonight at City Hall beginning at 7:00 pm.

Of particular interest to all should be the issue of South Park Surface Parking (.pdf).

Government in action!

Is that were all the remains of the leftover republicans are now ?

Before Daley sent in his team
to influence the city council to pull out of the SOC and join the ONCC ?

Oh we know what's going on here...

Get you tickets for the 2016 games now.....

I hope this reader is joking. Once and for all, read the Tribune. The decision to pull out of the SOC was to keep Park Ridge from pissing away another $650,000 or so on an "investment" (credit Witecha) that was really just a donation down the rat-hole. The FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, AT THE TIME VERY REPUBLICAN, MANDATED THE O'HARE WORK TO MAKE THIS "INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS TRAVEL HUB" MORE EFFICIENT FOR THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE. If Daly and the suburbs couldn't work it out, the Feds were gonna come in and make it happen over everybody's objections. Sure, Daly gets the tax revenue, and that's no small thing, but the Democrats did not force this on Park Ridge -- neither the ones in Chicago nor the far more helpless ones in the prior Park Ridge City Council. Those poor idealistic mopes were just trying to save you from Mayor Frimark's "financial streamlining." How's that been workin' for ya?
Neurosis is mistaking enemies for friends and friends for enemies....
Think about it. For your own sake.

"The Reader" is not joking.

The Reader is nuts.

sorry...off topic...
I see that thre is a debate between the current mayor and the alderman who wants to be mayor, on Thursday this week at City Hall. Can anyone attend or is it limited to the organization that is the host?
Too bad there are not cameras in the city council chambers so many of us can see it!

The debates are open to the public. Attend if you can and bring the friends and neighbors.

A fun community event today would be to build an ark!
Who's with me?

You display the same kind of ignorance and paranoia (usually a lethal combination) that kept Park Ridge pouring millions of dollars into the SOC black hole - and that looks to be driving ORD-REST and others today.

Do the research! Once REPUBLICAN senators like John McCain (AZ) and Charles Grassley (IA) started complaining about O'Hare congestion and demanding O'Hare expansion back in 2001, O'Hare became exclusively a federal issue instead of an Illinois issue. And when REPUBLICAN gov. George Ryan (Club Fed) rolled over for Daley in 2002 and agreed to incorporate the O'Hare Modernization agreement into federal law, the deal was done.

But I'm sure you're overwhelmed by facts like these which don't fit neatly into your fairy tale.

I was at the meeting last night. Frimark was doing a 'Johnny Cash before sobriety' impression...all in black and mumbling away.

Schmidt scored some points by questioning Hock about the stimulas request. Why did we ask for 20 million for a police station and 5 or 6 for sewers. Hock responded that it asked for 'shovel ready' projects and apparently we still need a study.
I'm betting the residents that have had raw sewage in their homes 6 times over the last 2 years when we've had those once every hundred year rains are 'shovel ready'.

Bach attempted to offer understanding to one resident by rambling off some cliche that is so old it's been calligraphied onto cheap wood and sold at Hallmark and spammed around the world via e-mail 3 times. It was shameful. This poor man was standing at the podium talking about the VERY real health hazards his children live with. His hand was shaking. Initially I thought it was nerves. The longer he spoke the more I realized it was fear...fear for the health and well being of his family. That's not a cliche, we don't need a study.

But I'll let PRU tell it to you. They do this better than me.

FOUR YEARS AGO, Frimark promised that this was his number one campaign priority, right? People are still dealing with flooding, sewage backups, etc. And they say we need more studies?
COME ON.
Quit the bullshit Frimark.

Here is the study:

You drive around town after a heavy rain and look at all the water-logged debris at the curbs.
Those are the areas that need new sewers. Seems pretty simple to me.

(Of course most people who have had flooding have already threw out their carpets and cardboard boxes of ruined belongings last fall, so the "study" may be a bit too late. But that is typical of Howard's leadership, isn't it?)

I have no problem with a study. Tell us what needs to be done, what it will cost and what we will get for it. Tell us how it might or might not fit in the city budget. Tells us what 5 or ten things we can do year by year - FOR GOD SAKE MANAGE!!!

My question is why on earth has a study not already been done??? I have only been here 5 years but every time we get heavy rain people flood. I can only inagine what those who are lifers must be thinking.

I was at one of the city hall flood meetings after the Sept. flood. I would have thought for your own self preservation you would have done something. You would have communicated some kind of plan but I have seen nothing.

You'd "think" there would have already been a study. Frimark wants to have another one done and get the $$ from the taxpayers. Hmmm, which friend can he call?

I'm sure he's home tonight trying to figure it out.
the rest of Park Ridge is at Uncle Dan's, partying with the next mayor of Park Ridge, Dave Schmidt.
Uncle Dan's, you rule!!!!

Anon at 4:06, it's not that I don't believe we need a study, but shouldn't that have been done years ago? How can you look at this man, how can Bach look this man in the face, and say we still need to do a study? These residents have human waste in their homes; and it's happened several times! Honestly if I were Frimark, I'd have trouble sleeping at night knowing that my complete and utter lack of both leadership and common sense has damaged people's homes, finances and health.

Shame on you Howard. Shame on you!
