Desperate Spouse-lies.

There is a true story about the late wife of the late James Brown that illustrates how stupid and desperate some people can be. It seems Mrs. Brown, through her attorney, once tried to beat a traffic rap by claiming to have "diplomatic immunity" because she was the wife of James Brown, a.k.a. the "Ambassador of Soul".

As it turned out for Mrs. Brown, diplomatic immunity applies only to real diplomats on foreign soil who may break the law - while on their home soil they're expected to behave.

Elected officials, while misbehaving on their home soil, do enjoy what is known as"Legislative Immunity", but that is limited to the performance of their official duties. No such immunity applies to elected officials' family members.

And it seems elected officials may not be immune from being held civilly liable for defamation of the slander and libel variety.

We hear there may be one elected official shuffling around town who may want to very carefully consider his own words and then ball-gag his wife, since neither he nor she should expect to be immune from civil liability of a defamation variety.

Tsk tsk. It's not nice to say nasty things about honorable, loyal, and long-standing worker bees in one's own party, especially when those nasty things aren't true.

Jeez Howard, we thought you and Nancy had a little more class than that. Try to behave yourselves.

Do I correctly understand that Mayor Frimark has been breaking Gaylord Parkinson's eleventh commandment?

PRU could you be just a little bit more telling?

We could, but we're going to let this one sink in for a bit of time.

Ironic now that his enemies gone he begins to turn on his friends. Reminds me of "Evita."

"How annoying that they have to fight elections for their cause
The inconvenience, having to get a majority
If normal methods of persuasion fail to win them applause
There are other ways of establishing authority

[All:]
A new Argentina, the chains of the masses untied
A new Argentina, the voice of the people
Cannot be, and will not be, and must not be denied."

Did PRU see the Journal paper today? The Mayor is very unhappy about this blog about his wife.

We haven't seen the paper today, but one of the PRU Crew did get a call about the piece.

Howard can be as unhappy as he likes. If he doesn't want Fancy Nancy to be subject to criticism, he shouldn't use her like a little tool to be his mouthpiece for smearing people who disagree with him. If Fancy Nancy can't take the heat, then she should stay out of the political kitchen.

As we said in the post, it's not nice to say nasty and untrue things about honorable, loyal, and long-standing worker bees in one's own party. It's stupid too.

So, let me get this straight. Mayor Frimark spends most of his waking hours fabricating stories about people. He attacks other elected officials, candidates and even their spouses in a backbiting and vicious manner through whisper campaigns designed to destroy peoples credibility at any cost. Oh but it’s never him. It’s always “you know a lot of people are talking” or “a little birdie told me” or he has others just do his dirty work for him.

Now he has the audacity to complain because someone has called his wife out on it. It is unbelievable how this town continues to tolerate his garbage.

If Mayor Frimark spent as much time on trying to enact good policies that are good for all of Park Ridge as he does on political tomfoolery and lobbying for campaign contributors, we might actually have the best little town East of the Rockies.
