This is theatre of the absurd. The weird and wonderful sermon of Alderman Allegretti can only be topped by the off the wall bizarre screeching of the guy from the audience scolding him. Thank god for Alderman DiPietro.

just read this in the Journal.

>>(It) means pretty much the council majority has just wasted six to eight weeks of time,” Schmidt said. “I just wish the aldermen would treat the taxpayers’ money like their own. Maybe they wouldn’t just throw it around.<<

Mayor DipSchmidt, how long did you sit on your hands before you even took up the issue of Hock's contract? ...and it was the city manager, himself, who had to get you to pay attention to what you were supposed to be doing.

You've become quite the politician...nothing but equivocating apologies for your own failings...and vitriolic blame for the aldermen...with whom you fail to make the most modest of efforts to work...an pathetic inconsistency in your "philosophy" and treatment of public policy issues.

Thank you for your post. I could not remember what bugged me about the whole thing until you reminded me about the Mayor apologizing for letting the review slip through the cracks.

In light of how the Mayor fumbled the ball, his comments about the Council are pretty lame.

I also want to see the Mayor and the Council stop bickering and start working together for the good of our town. It's late in the game but it's never too late to try to get something accomplished. They are supposed to be adults but they act like juveniles sometimes.

Speaking of accomplishments...

Has anyone asked Mayor Schmidtzkrieg if anything was accomplished during his closed-door meeting with the condo developer before the Council meeting?

The PRU Crew is burning with curiosity!

Closed door meeting?!?!?

I am reminded of the following words......"“Transparency” – making it possible for citizens to “see through” the workings of their government – is essential to holding government and the officials who administer it accountable for their actions and inaction".........." And the more transparent government is, the less chance there is of corruption and the back-room deals that for too long have characterized government in our county and in our state".............."
Finally, transparency of our City government not only empowers its citizens, but it builds bonds of trust between those citizens and their government which carries with it the goodwill that unites a community in common efforts toward common goals. That is why I consider it a keystone of my campaign for mayor of Park Ridge".

-Mayor Dave Schmidt during the campaign.

As we understand it, a closed-door meeting was held between the Mayor and a condo developer, before the City Council meeting.

That is the reason the Mayor was late and apologized for the delay at the beginning of the video.

What we are burning with curiosity to know is, why would the Mayor agree to such a meeting? We thought the City of Park Ridge already has a process and procedure in place for development proposals. Maybe we are mistaken.

PRU:

I have said this before so plese forgive the repitition. I understand that we will not all see eye to eye related to government (and many other) issues. You should see some of the "conversations" my wife and I have. What drives me freakin' nuts is the inconsistency (or as you prefer, double standard). This guy got elected on killing the Frimark regime about secracy. Transparancy is his buzz word. He fought the council by "leaking" information from closed meetings.

Now he has a closed door meeting with a developer??? He and his supporters can spin that in what ever way they like. It is just flat out stupid.
