"Everybody's Awesome!"

Calvin and Hobbes; written and illustrated by Bill Watterson

Daily Herald -- Is there honor in forgiveness?

In what we at PRU view as an "awesome" display of "entitlement" thinking, a DePaul graduate and Park Ridge native has hired an attorney to sue DePaul University "to force it to designate him an honors student even though some of his grades were not high enough for honors."

Nobody in the PRU crew had ever heard of "grade forgiveness" before; probably because the PRU crew never thought of demanding anything that hadn't been legitimately earned.

We are nearly speechless about this.

This goes on all the time.
Recently we have heard of a
Pk youth attempting to change his grade - so he could maintain his 4.0 GPA - at HS level ?

Yes - its attempted all the time.

How many FALSE resumes are out there amoung the youth of this town?

How many fail but demand that the system be at fault.

It bothers me because - it still shows that the ME generation wants to be in charge - here.

Get up.....

Stand up.....

Shut up.....

Take like a man.....

Most of all....Grow up !

Keep in mind that the parents
have access to little johnny's or susie's grades - thanks to the PTA that caved in a long time ago so they can check.

One excuse we've heard was "I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT MY CLASS AVERAGE WAS.... YOU THE TEACHER...DIDN'T WIPE MY BUTT FOR ME TOO!

ANOTHER PARK RIDGE PRINCE OR PRINCESS !!!BEING GROOMED

So who are the two nitwits? Apparently an attorney with too much time on his/her hands and the other a student with not enough brains to earn honors the proper way. Sad.

so you're bundling up every child who grows up in PR as a spoiled "trust fund" brat. Sorry, not how it goes. Your comments are offensive to those of us who DID grow up here, work hard, pay taxes, stay out of trouble, etc. Think about what you say before you say it.
We grow up here, move away to experience the world, then come back here because it IS a nice place to grow up. Or WAS...until this city council along with their fearless leader turned it into a mockery.

Fascinating article. In the interest of full disclosure, DePaul University should probably change its name to DePaul Junior College.

I guess growing up here in the mean streets of Park Ridge were too tough to handle - ha!

Yes - that parent who recently struck back at the teacher who gave his or her son/daughter a "B" grade and was then told - well my son/daughter will not be able to get into Harvad bacause of you !!

How long can these thumb suckers last in the "Real world ".

Get a life - people.
