Did you miss us?
We took a break to unwind and relax. We also took the time off to discuss some future plans for the blog.
We will be adding at least one regular feature: A bi-weekly, freewheeling and reader-driven post that will be open to subjects on the minds of PRU readers. It's an idea that the Crew had been considering for some time since we get a ton of email questions, and the idea was also suggested by a couple of our faithful readers. We are hoping that the questions people in the community have about whatever topics they are interested in will be asked openly and answered by other people in the community who may have knowledge or an opinion on a subject.
As always our PRUle about "no libel -- no bullshit" applies.
We have also been catching up with the goings on about town. We see the subject of the St. Mary's PADS shelter has been heating up over at the Pub-dog's site. We have to laugh. Did you think we were kidding when we told you back in early December about the Christie's Carousel of Learning move to the Presbyterian Church and then said, "We wonder if the newly available space at St. Mary's Episcopal Church is being readied for a PADS Program?" There must not be any "knowledgeable" St. Mary's Episcopalians among our PRU readers! Or, they would have spoken up, right?
We hear Mayor Frimark is telling residents he only knows what he's been reading in the papers.

Frimark is working behind the scenes to get his old friend Rosemary ( the pro-abortionist) reelected again.
So is the METRRO's Pk Ridge Crew.
The only think different here is
Frimark does not have any credibility
along with Rosie.
Seems as though that they think we are all seating with our heads in the sand.
I will be sure to wave at them when they use the memorial day parade as a tool to get the word out.
Don't worry Rosie and Howie - your word is already out there - junk mail!!!!

well, it WAS a fun Spring Break! There was a big snow/ice storm and the streets of PR were "lightly salted" on that Saturday morning and full of sheets of ice (Dee Rd!).
I saw a PR police officer on Wheel of Fortune who told everyone he lives in Schaumburg (because he can't live in the community where he works) and he missed the bonus puzzle "Give Me Five."
OK. That's what I saved up from your week off. Glad you're back.
City Council meeting tonight?
Good call on PADS, PRU Crew. So you knew back in December what Frimark's finding out in the papers just now. Too much time in Florida, or too little interest in anything he can't make a buck on? (He can't make a buck on a PADS shelter, can he?)

Lightly salted may be good for popcorn -- not too sure that's the way to go for streets after ice storms.
The members of the city council will be interviewing candidates tonight and tomorrow night for the position of city manager.
The Crew does try to pay attention and our cynical natures make us alert for distractions, intended or otherwise. We aren't surprised to hear the mayor is claiming he only knows what's been printed in the local rags. But we were surprised to hear the mayor claim he can read, because we know he sure can't write.
Good luck with our search for the new city mgr and PD chief.
I think we are going to need it.

I am a resident of Park Ridge.I also own a 2-flat on Northwest Highway.This 2-flat as well as many of the 2-flats on Northwest Highway are set up to be converted into 3-flats.The basements have windows and are dry and most have the plumbing roughed in.The rent would certainly be within the "affordable" range,probably $550. to $650. per month.
This would help Park Ridge in the percentage of homes that must be affordable housing.
The problem is these buildings are zoned for 2-flats only.This could be changed adding atleast 35 to 40 apartments as well as added realestate revenue to help the city.
