Our inspiration: 'Typo' or zoning loophole? - Park Ridge Herald-Advocate
For desired accompaniment: Winter Wonderland
(Click on traditional arrangement)
Hey, Park Ridge
Are you listening
In Uptown
Steel is glistening
A beautiful sight
If you're a builder tonight
Walking in a Park Ridge Wonderland
Gone away is the green space
In its place is a disgrace
A four-story hulk
With way too much bulk
Looming in a Park Ridge Wonderland
In the future we can build more condos
Then pretend that density is good
Why not build them higher?
Call them "Mondos"!
And you can say good-bye
To your old 'hood
Once again
They'll conspire
To go up even higher
And face unafraid
The zoning code that we've made
Building in a Park Ridge Wonderland
In the Uptown we can spend TIF dollars
And pretend that we are flush with cash
We'll have lots of fun with those TIF dollars
Unless a downturn bites us in the ass
Years from now
Reminiscing
Open space we'll be missing
What will we say
About back in the day
Living in a Park Ridge Wonderland
What will we say
About back in the day
Walking in a Park Ridge Wonderland

All we need now - is a another statue but lets hoist one up for our honored heroin - " Hillary ". Yes you pins heads who have NOT done your homework. Blind trust......what a huge loss to the city...I mean clity......when we lost her to clean politics ???
Wow.....................
A few things, Anon@9:33am
We feel we are very open to posting almost everything that comes to PRU, but we are getting annoyed with your constant off-topic posts.
We don't like Hillary either but our reasons don't have anything to do with her anatomy.
If you've got something to say about her policies that have something to do with Park Ridge and the topic you post to, we will be happy to post your comments. But no more gratuitous bullshit.
First and final warning. K?
Thanks.
Maybe "anonymous" needs to lay off the "heroin." Or buy a dictionary.
I have a little comment that provides a nexus between Hillary and uptown development... if Hillary wins, won't Park Ridge eventually get a presidential library in town? Could we reserve Executive Plaza for that chance? Imagine the city council chewing on that issue!
Right now we are imagining the look on Janet Van de Carr's face when your suggestion begins ringing the bells in her head. ;-)
Dear anonymous at 9:33...
may the Christmas spirit be within you.
I will vote for Hillary JUST TO ANNOY people like you. Of course, anything is better than the monkey in the white house now.
Another off topic comment:
Right on, ms manchester.
Merry Christmas to all...
get a life!!!!people.
Here's what I wonder.
I used to look though old newspapers going back decades ago and when stuff like this was pruposed usually there was enough people to stop these things from gong through.
What's changed?
Why is it now this is all happening?
I even wonder about those who've been long time residents including Mayor Frimark who's been a PR resoident for 36 years and is also for all these changes because it seems strange to move to a place that's a certain way and then wanna change things especially if you've lived there for a long time.
oh my..."bitter, party of ONE"
ahahahahaha
As a tax payer and home owner
I would like to comment - if its ok.
1. the politics here is hard to understand.
2. Why are the taxes so high!
3. Is it only me or do most here like paying higher taxes.
4. When can we see some light down the road from all of this fighting within the city gov't.
5. People - you need to get involved if you don't like what is taking place here.
In the past we have seen neighbor helping neighbor - which is what its all about.
This gotcha crap needs to stop.
Help each other.
Stop the violence.
Stop the road rage.
For the people - remember.....
Thank you
8:42 pm
you forgot -
The snow may never slush upon the hillside
i am young and late in the game. just moved back to park ridge and it's not the home i left 4 years ago. what can be done to "clean up" these PR messes? I knew "shady" kids that worked in Howard Frimark's office a couple years ago in my Maine South days... never liked him by association and now seeing the town turned upside down have further distaste for him. what can the average citizen do about the ridiculous exec plaza? when will the madness end?
P.R. Girl:
"Distaste" for any public official is unproductive and a waste of time. Attack the policies and practices that are distasteful.
If you want better from your town, organize your friends, relatives and neighbors. Form a block group. Talk to your alderman, go to meetings and speak out. And challenge, aggressively and publicly, every single thing that you government is doing that you think is wrong.
In short, become a public citizen.
Tough Shit underground!
You and your yuppie crap!
you don't care for what...
being hit between the eyes..
grow up.
