First we read a story in the Journal & Topics about Local House Foreclosures Continue Nasty Climb, which included some stats for Park Ridge. The article reports that "according to this latest information, Park Ridge's foreclosures increased by 147%, going from 32 to 79."
Tell us again how increasing density for new condominium projects is good for Park Ridge?
Then we read two articles in Crain's: one about the Foreclosure wave builds, and another about the Wave of need bleeds charities.
Maybe people can pick up an extra box of Mac-n-Cheese to show some thanks to Kraft foods for their charitable efforts, then deliver that extra box to Emergency Food Pantry - General Assistance - Maine Township.
And just in case anybody thought the Average Joe was going to catch a break, burbcopschicago put up an article to wish everybody a Merry F---ing Xmas From BGPD. They get it because they are out there every day seeing it. The working stiffs get stiffed from every direction.
The PRU Crew still hopes the good and blessed people of Park Ridge can dig a little deeper this Holiday season and give a little bit more to those less blessed, both within and without of our community.

Yes - I agree we should help our fellow man as we have in the past.
But what of the folks here ..those with their noises up in the air....
those starbucks alumni drinkers...
will they help to pitch in ?
Sure they will....in promoting higher taxes for the city...and that's a good thing. Why you say...because it keeps the rifraff
out..that's why.
They......cannot afford this town.
So - for you Hillary fans and Obama
rama fans.....you know what to do.
Vote with your wallet!
Thank you.
Can anyone tell me about
the sweetheart deal that
the Fire Chief got when the
uptown project was into the
selling/bids excepted phase ?
Why did chief wonderboy get a TWO
condo deal ? Was it before the
open bidding process all started ?
Was it because he had the inside track ( fire alarm system approval for the project) the key to his success ?
Its time for the Feds to come in and clean up in aisle.....help yourself !!
Think about it.....
As far as we know, the condo sales for Uptown were done pretty cleanly.
We know Fire Chief Dubowski is or was a principal in a real estate LLC, but we have no reason to suspect or conclude that he has done anything unseemly.
wow..........that's heavy.
Keep thinking that way.....
just like the rest of HF and
his closed/behind the scheme
deals.
"Pretty cleanly???"
Is that like a little bit pregnant?
I am sure it has nothing to do with Chief Dubowski, but is there more to the story here?
Or must wwe patiently wait for an upcoming post?
Like how stinky the Napleton-PRC taxpayer gift is going to be? The city giving away up to $400,000 to make more condos happen at a time when there isn't enough financial backing to get the condos already approved for Greenwood and Northwest Highway funded and built?
It is the season of giving, I guess Napleton and PRC Partners need SOMETHING in their stockings.
I vote for a lump of coal. Maybe with a little used motor oil cocktail, with some asbestos on the side.
I suspect when the Finance committee meets (tomorrow night?) the gifts will be flowing. After all, it is in the TIF district. So giving away the taxpayers money is all honky-dory.
Honest Injun, people. We got nothing on the PRC condo sales being dirty.
The most we've heard is that the lottery for the sales was a bungled cluster.
Anybody who knows and can prove otherwise should feel free to submit a Guest Essay, under a pen-name if preferred, along with supporting documents, and we'll provide the bullhorn.
Reggie,
We agree. If you are a connected landowner and/or developer in Park Ridge, tis the season to be jolly about the honky-dory giving away of taxpayer dollars by local government.
my gosh...I've gone from anger about all of this to just plain sadness. I really think the A.G. is watching. Just a hunch.
P.R. certainly looks pretty all lit up at night. Sorry, I mean "Frimarkville".
about the Fair Housing Commission--does anyone know what's happened to it? It's fallen off the list of meetings and I don't see any minutes posted on the website.
Is this a mistake or an "accidental mistake?"
The Fair Housing Commission meets once a month. You will have to go back through past events on the City's web site to view the minutes.
As reported in the 4/5/06 Journal and further explained by a city staffer (Juliana Maller?), approximaltely 400 numbers were picked randomly by prospective purchasers of 115 PRC condos. But instead of the person who drew "1" getting first choice, PRC inexplicably held a second
"drawing" (in private?) later that day to determine a "beginning number” - 351 - that was then treated as the new "1."
So instead of the people who randomly picked nos. 1 through 115 getting the preferential picks, the person with No. 351 got first pick - followed by people with Nos. 352 through 400; and then the people who had Nos. 1 through 69. So if you had Nos. 70 through 115, you got screwed by the magic number from the second drawing.
Following some complaints by people who got knocked out by the "magic" number, the City supposedly asked PRC - it's
"partner" in the development - for a list of the drawing "winners" to see if any notable names appeared which might suggest that something wasn't right with the lottery. But PRC refused to provide a list.
We know for sure....some heads are still in the sand here.
Let's Bring some light here..a breath of fresh air that is....when the indictments come down...hf will be out of town.........
