As you know this week Harry O' Brian The Camber of Commerce Director passed away.
Funny how we can have a both good and bad week at the same time.
But anyway here's my reason for bringing this up.
Up untill the time they redid the library property there was a mark for another former COC director named Clare Perlin, probably short for Clarence, who died in 1971.
well some weeks back on a Sunday I was uptown enjoying the weather and it occured to me the memorial which was pretty much hidden by a pine tree was removed in the process. And I wonder, why did they do that?
Even though 1971 was 38 years ago and many here, myself included wasn't even around then it really doesn't matter. Mr. Perlin was I'm sure was just as important durring his time with the PRCOC as Mr. O' Brian was. And unless the memorial was moved it's rather unfortunate to eliminate someting for someone especially when 1 or a group of people thought enough of that person to make a note of him or her.
I mean are they gonna put some memorial for Mr. O'Brian and years later get rid of it?
to the Herald-Advocate: how NICE of you to remove the story that Park Ridge has a new mayor, just a few days after the election, from the front page of your website.
Once again, your crappy reporting and decisions are what will make most of us happy to see you go when your company folds.
Shame on the Herald-advocate for supporting Frimark. One more piece of evidence showing that the local paper is OUT OF TOUCH with reality. Glad they could be proven wrong!
I had the pleasure of working for Claire Perlin back in the 60's. He was a very nice individual and supporter of Park Ridge. We need to find out where his mark went when the library was worked on and replace it.....

Good Easter morning....
I agree with the comments here on the failure(s) of the Advocate.
Hopefully, and in time your coverage of this last election will be classified between complacency
and apathy.
Did anyone see Howard in his office using the shredder ?

It is also the media's fault that Obama won and that there is global warming.....and UFO's!
somebuddy's hitting the Easter sherry a bit early!

You are partially correct. What you missed is that UFO hyper drive emissions are causing global warming.
It is my understanding that they are opening a UFO runway at O'hare....and it is the media's fault.
