HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Daily Herald -- "Once in a blue moon..."

At the sound of the tolling midnight bell
a brand new year will begin.
Let's raise our hopes in a confidant toast,
to the promise it ushers in.

May your battles be few, your pleasures many,
your wishes and dreams fulfilled.
May your confidence stand in the face of loss
and give you the strength to rebuild.

May peace of heart fill all your days
may serenity grace your soul.
May tranquil moments bless your life
and keep your spirit whole.

Our New Year Toast to You!

May all your troubles during the coming year
be as short-lived as your New Year's resolutions.

Welcome back PRU.

I love the toast. I gave up making resolutions because I never could keep them. My new years have been happier without all the pressure! lol.

What a year is was! We have a new mayor and I hope he keeps his campaign promises! Park Ridge is headed in the right direction. Thanks to the PRU!

We have a new mayor but I don't know you can say the town is headed in the right direction.

I know the blogs are Schmidt's cheerleader squad but there hasn't been much to cheer about has there?

Defecits.
Layoffs.
Power outages.
Cuts to services.
Higher taxes.
More fees.
Special treatment for contributors.

Rah rah sis boom bah.

No matter what it's better than Frimark.

6:09- What's different now with Schmidt? Nothing I can see.

Anonymous at 7:43,

What you see that isn't different is the idiot aldermen left over from Frimark's reign.

Schmidt hasn't accomplished anything but at least he isn't the leader of a pack of idiots trying to personally line his own pockets.

At this time, all Schmidt can do is try to stop these idiots from pushing PR further down the drain. The only way Schmidt can hope to do that with support from the voters is to not compromise on the fundamental principles and core values that got him elected.

Schmidt has stumbled badly on some things so far, and acted the fool too, but he is still better than Frimark.

Can you imagine being the Mayor sitting at home reading this blog (I am sure he does). Here you come to a venue that is clearly in your corner - or at least was during the election and after almost a year in office this is how you are defended?!?!!?! ".....he is still better than Frimark". I have said it before but that is like being the best hockey plahyer in Peru.

What is to defend? The mayor hasn't done anything.
