Yep!! this is P - ville alright!

Also a side note here - I ran into the just retired PD Chief - he looks great - no pressure!!

So disappointed that opening night of Taste of Park Ridge was met with crummy weather.

Here's hoping tomorrow and Sunday are better!!!

I know a lot of hard work went into organizing the event.

The "just retired" PD Chief? You mean "forced out with a $100,000 golden parachute" PD Chief?

By the numbers: 31, 5, 1.

Number of years with the PRPD.

Number of PRPD department members who attended free food and booze retirement party for parachuted Chief.

Number of patrol officers who attended party...oops...that should be "officer" - singular, not plural....

31 years and 1 officer shows up at your retirement party? That ought to show how much he was liked and respected....

Perhaps the issue isn't liking and/or respecting the former PD Chief when patrol officers didn't show up at his retirement party. Maybe those patrol officers have a healthy sense of self-preservation - no sense making enemies among those who are still around and orchestrated the forced departure of the PD Chief.

I don't want to open up a whole can of worms here, but it seems to me that a lot of the familiar faces in the PRPD are gone, and there are a lot of new faces. I'm talking about patrol officers.
Am I right? Did others get fired (besides the female officer caught in the crap) or did they just get fed up and leave?

Nah - I know the guys - - it was ALL about not liking him. Many others have been forced out and had VERY well attended retirement parties.

Two with less then 10years on have gone on to better things and rumor has it one more is on the way.

THe police department is rumored to have " a lot less gossip in the station" since JC's departure.

Guys are doing their jobs even through this "investigation" the department is under.

Let the reported attendance record stand for itself.

Thanks for the update and numbers on the former chiefs retirement party. I love it! Those numbers speak for them self. How humiliating for the former chief... too bad, so sad. I thought that the "pay off" was still in question and still had to be voted on. Is it already a done deal?
