Rosemary's Political Baby!

By many accounts, Mayor Howard wouldn't be in the political position he's in today if it weren't for the backing he's received from State Rep. Rosemary Mulligan.

So, it comes as no surprise that insurance salesman, Howard Frimark -- Park Ridge's self-described 24/7 Mayor, would also be Ms. Mulligan's go to guy when she needs insurance. And if you're going to be Park Ridge's 24/7 Mayor then we guess nobody should be surprised when you conduct your 9-to-5 insurance business out of City Hall.

We wonder which loyal city staffer gets to volunteer to also handle Mayor Howard's insurance business at City Hall?

But as the Journal & Topics' "braying ass", Dwight Esau, put it to everybody in response to a letter written in reaction to our 'Worth 1000 Words' piece, this is probably just another one of those ethics violation "dust-ups".

Anybody have the number handy for ServiceMaster?

Just business as usual at 505 Butler Place!

Wait a minute. You mean to tell me he's running his insurance business out of City Hall!!!

Isn't that completely illegal.

OMG!!!!

Some of the general reported encounters with Rosemary have not been very positive. She is not always so nice and polite. Once they are in office for too long they think they will continue to just automatically get voted back in.

Howie hasn't been ethical since he took office.
what's the deal on the Cumberland thing? Is it true that Schakowsky said it isn't worth pursuing?

Anonymous said...

Howard thinks it is worth pursuing! It might mean EPA cleanups for D.Bob's property (Casey) or inflated land prices for Car Dealerships or Restaurants. Forget what the average Park Ridge resident wants in our community. With Howard it is all about what Howard wants and what Howard's friends and supporters get!

As far as I'm concerned, this town is done like dinner. There's a priest making decisions that will effect this town who won't be around to see aftermath of his decisions. I can't wait to see what happens with the new businesses and buildings uptown when the homeless folks are wandering around. All that money invested to improve uptown only to have a priest take it down and then leave. go figure.

I agree with you. I am very very discouraged about this town.
Just today I was looking at real estate in another community, similar to PR but without all the b.s. It might be time to go. :(

Does anyone know who we can contact to get a "Protect Our Children" button? Everyone was wearing them on Monday.

To Anony-mouse,

No one should feel that they have to leave Park Ridge. We just need to take our town back. I believe we can if we continue to stick together on the issues and show our church and city leaders that this is our town!

We all must work together to find our own candidate for important leadership positions. We have to elect people into position that share our voice and our concerns. We will then vote out the city leadership that is not representing us.

WE CAN DO IT!

I heard a few months ago that Howard was heard telling several people that if they don't like what they are hearing at city council and commission meeting then they should just move!

Wouldn't be the first time he's expressed that kind of feeling for certain constituents.

OK. If Howie the Clown says that, I truly would stay just to piss him off.
You are right, we have LOST OUR TOWN.
Let us know where we can get the buttons.

I agree with all of the messages posted here and then some.

In brief:

We do need to stay together on these issues. We also know that Howie, Rosemary, Danger Dan, and Sue Bell are all in bed together when it comes to this town's politics. You can throw in Gov. Blago too - as the fifth wheel!

Between the state, county and city of PK - we need some changes. When election time comes around - volunteer to help.

Only through effective participation can we achieve change.

And that last message is right...we could end up with town drunks leaning against to empty store windows.....wow!

It's time for Rosemary to retire. She is getting forgetful and senile (not to be insulting, but it's true). She has served, but now it is time to pass the baton to new blood. There are plenty of qualified Republicans in the area that could run.

Sorry for the delayed review and posting of comments, people; I was asked to review the lot, but had an obligation to attend to.

To the poster whose comment was not published. We understand the feeling. We share your irritation and anger. But your expression was way over the top, and nothing we would even joke about, let alone post.

Remember people, as anon at 8:20 high-lighted, "Only through effective participation can we achieve change."

It's the only way to go.

So who's going to "participate" in a race against Frimark?

people are truly showing their colors in this town. sorry you have to sift and sort through the nutty comments, PRU.
Thanks for your great work in keeping us informed.
