I emailed both the Pioneer press and PR Historical Society asking why Paul Carlson retained the mural for so many years.
Got nothing back from the PP but got a reply from the Historical Society from Paul Adlaf and claimed that no one really know why Mr. Carlson retained it for so long.
But you know, it just get's me thinking. Here's a man who was a life long resident and well know in the community as well the high school he taught at. For some reason it amazes me someone like him would of just kept something so valuble for such a long time and for what purpose?
That was 38 years ago when The PO moved from what is now Dist. 64 headquarters and things change in such a long period of time. people retired and move a away and die and just think about all those who remember the old mural and never had the chance to see it because he kept it in seclusion for so long.

that's PRETTY!
Know what else is pretty? BUSSE! Wow. How long did THAT take? Maybe one day someone can get the state to take care of Cumberland too!
Well that puts and end to this week.
Anyway:
They tore down those vacant houses on Courtland Ave.
Haven't heard too much about that property since the summer though I'm glad they got rid of them.
Also a follow up.
Couple of weeks ago I mentioned about the old WPA mural that was in the old PR Post office.
